SUPPORT FOR THE WEST MIDLANDS ECONOMY

ART welcomed some 100 guests to its Spring networking event, where the theme was ‘Supporting the West Midlands Economy’.  There was an opportunity for financers, accountants, intermediaries and advisors to catch up on issues and products related to access to finance for small to medium enterprises in the region and to learn more about ART’s current Community Share Offer.

ART is seeking to raise an additional £500,000 to lend in 2019/20.  Speaking at the event, Dr Steve Walker, Chief Executive of ART, explained: “We already have £2.9m available to lend in the new financial year, but know we can do more.”  Dr Nick Venning, Chair of ART, added: ”We are appealing to companies and individuals with between £500 and £100,000 to invest to consider ART shares.  Investors will not only be helping to boost the local economy, but will also qualify for Community Investment Tax Relief (CITR), which offers 5% per annum of the sum invested as a tax relief for five years.”

In the prize draw John Rimmer of BRI won a luxury Easter Egg (pictured with ART Chief Executive Steve Walker on his left and ART Chair Nick Venning on his right), whilst Jamie De Souza of Trowers & Hamlins won a bottle of Champagne.

Every guest went away with an environmentally-friendly reusable coffee cup in a choice of blue or purple.
