Birmingham Small Business Loan Fund

If you are a Birmingham-based business or social enterprise looking for finance and unable to access any or all of it from a bank, this is a fund for you.

The Birmingham Small Business Loan Fund is supported by Birmingham City Council and Unity Trust Bank.  It has a total of £1m per annum to lend for three years – from 2017 to 2020 and is now able to recycle further funds to provide further loans.

The aim of the Fund is to enable local businesses and social enterprises to access the finance they need to survive and thrive, protecting or creating jobs and boosting the local economy in Birmingham in the process.

The fund offers:

  • Loans of £10,000 to £150,000 for any business purpose, including to support cashflow
  • Repayment terms from six months to five years with no penalty for early repayment
  • Responsible interest rates

For some loans ART is currently able to utilise the Governments Recovery Loan Scheme
