UPSURGE IN DEAL FLOW MAY HERALD ECONOMIC RECOVERY

Professor John Bryson, ART Board Member and Professor of Enterprise and Competitiveness at the University of Birmingham

ART has seen an upsurge in applications over the past two months from businesses applying for loan finance to support their growth and development. This supports the findings of a number of recent reports which indicate that economic recovery may have started.

ART Board Member John Bryson, Professor of Enterprise and Competitiveness at the University of Birmingham, told BBC Midlands Today that he believed the evidence was now stacking up to support an optimistic view of economic prospects for the second half of 2013. “Certainly ART has seen an increase in deal flow and the Board is looking at strategies for growth to keep up with demand,” he said.

A typical ART borrower is looking for around £20,000 to invest in premises, staff or equipment, or to support cashflow. They can be engaged in any type of business, but are typically already established and may even have loan finance from a bank. However, they need more money which the banks are unable to provide. A package of finance, including a loan from ART, is becoming an increasingly common solution to meet the financial needs of small to medium sized enterprises.

Any business interested in a loan from ART should call 0121 359 2444, or take a look at ART’s website, to find out more.
